Dishing Up Toronto Event-Breaking Bread
Date: Saturday April 1, 2017
Time: 2:00pm - 4:30pm (Optional tour of Montgomery’s Inn from 4:00 - 4:30)
Location: Montgomery’s Inn, 4709 Dundas Street West
Today the tradition of people coming together to break bread at Montgomery’s Inn is as strong as it was in the mid-19th century. During this cooking workshop, taste and experience stories of the past and present by breaking breads from around the world, baked in a wood-fired oven, and made from local ingredients.
This event includes admission to Gathering Around the Kitchen Table, an exhibition curated by Master of Museum Studies students Anja Hamilton, Erika Robertson, and Rachael Thiessen. Discover five unique stories of food and migration that look at negotiating a sense of belonging in the ever-changing city of Toronto. Content for the exhibition has come from the Dishing Up Toronto blog. Community Room at Montgomery’s Inn, April 1-30, 2017.
